Spring Classes and Workshops Schedule 2020
Shirley’s workshops and classes are held at St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre (unless stated otherwise in course description), #1 St. Peters Centre Blvd, St. Peters, MO 63376, 636-397-6903, ext. 1623 or 636-947-1936.
Most of the items needed for the classes and workshops are available in the Dick Blick catalog. John Pike Palettes are available from Cheap Joes catalog.
Creating with Collage, $120
Thursday, February 20 and Saturday, February 22, 2020, 9:30am- 3:30 pm
Let’s create something warm and fun on a winter’s day. Bring your watercolor greeting cards! We will begin by painting papers for collage on the first day using Golden fluid acrylics, watercolor paper, and rice papers. The second day will involve creating collages on greeting cards using the painted papers. Color theory and Design formats will be discussed. Bring your favorite rubber stamps. All levels welcome.

Exploring Watercolor: Birds, Flowers, Gardens, $150
Tuesdays, March 3-April 21, 2020, 1-3pm, 8 weeks
The class will continue its study on flowers, birds and landscapes in watercolor. Shirley will lead you through drawing a sketch to a watercolor finish.

Independent Study classes, $150
Wednesdays, March 4 -April 22, 2020, 10am-12pm, 8 weeks
Students will work in their favorite medium using their own art study brought to class. Shirley will assist and direct each student through the painting process. You may also bring artwork to class for positive critiques. All levels welcome.

Watermedia Floral Collage $120
Thursday, March 19 and Saturday, March 21, 2020, 9:30am-3:30pm
Using watercolor, the class will create beautiful wet-into-wet background papers and a large floral composition on watercolor paper. On the second day, the floral will be re-designed by attaching it to the surface of the background. All levels welcome.

Spring Watercolor Landscape $120
Thursday, April 16 & Saturday, April 18, 2020, 9:30am-3:30pm
A watercolor landscape will be completed in two days. Students may follow the instructor’s study or bring their own reference material. The class will focus on trees and rocks. Please bring reference photos. All levels welcome.
